Real-World Math teaches and strengthens math skills used in the real world. These reproducible materials are an extension to the “Real-World” series.

Students learn strategies for dealing with math problems found in day-to-day life, including how to adjust recipes, calculate nutrition information, figure sales tax and tips, manage schedules, plan travel, determine sale prices, handle banking transactions, manage budgets, and find the best deal. Activity sheets include realistic print found in everyday life.

Lesson Plans

Each unit begins with a lesson plan that includes unit objectives, teaching strategies, and plans for incorporating extension activities and assessment into the unit.

Activities

Numerous activity sheets follow each lesson plan, allowing for extensive individual practice. Activity sheets include realistic graphics that are identical to print seen in the real world.

Assessments

Unit assessments measure student learning. Includes multiple choice, short answer, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and true/false questions.
